Not Poor

He used to come into the restaurant where I worked every day and talk to me. I finally agreed to go out with him after my shift and he left, promising to be back in three hours. When he showed up, he had an ancient car that backfired constantly. He took me to get a burger at a cheap fast food place and made me pay for it. Then, he asked for gas money. I sarcastically asked him if he was going to charge me if we kissed as well, and he replied, "Would you?" with a look of surprised pleasure on his face. I asked him then if he was so poor, why he ate out at my restaurant all the time. He said he wasn't poor and opened up his wallet to reveal several hundred dollars in it. Not poor, just cheap!
