A Memorable Summer
Many years ago, I was stationed state-side in the military. I was in a division that deployed a lot for training and real world action. I worked with a great woman who could light up a room with her smile and personality. She looked really good in uniform, too (even after having two kids). Well, on one training exercise, that first summer we worked together, we were working very close and doing our jobs very well, while joking around the whole time. We just seemed to fit really well. I thought that I would start and enhance the flirting a little more. I told her that by the end of training I was going to kiss her. She seemed surprised, but not that shocked, if that makes sense. Well, anyway, by the end of training, we had kissed, but she turned the tables and kissed me first! It was a wonderful kiss, and we continued making out for what seemed like hours after that. The rest of the time I was stationed with her was magical. She was a little older than me and had taught this young man a lot for the next couple of years. I ended up living with her for a little bit, too, but then we ended it. I was too young and immature for a life with her and her kids. I still think about her a lot and wonder what she's doing now and how things would have turned out if I had grown up and acted like a man. I have since gotten married, but I still can't get her out of my mind. It's been over ten years, and I often think about that summer.
