Maybe Next Life
I have a colleague who is a very close friend of mine. She is a great person; sweet, beautiful and intelligent. We chat quite a bit and once in a while go out for a drink on Friday evenings before heading home. I always walk her back to her car before saying bye. We both are married and have lovely families. But one day after a drink, while I was saying bye to her, I complimented her on something. She looked at me for a few seconds and leaned forward and kissed me on my lips. I've always admired her beauty but, due to our marital status, didn't make any advances. But once her lips touched mine, the fuse broke, and we kissed each other passionately for a few minutes. I steadied myself and asked her to go home. We still are friends, continue to go for drinks and chat a lot. Every now and again, we kiss each other and embrace passionately but don't go any further than that, reminding ourselves of our responsibilities. We definitely don't want to break our marriages and, more importantly, break the hearts of our lovely kids. Once in a while, I have fantasies of going to bed with her, but I don't want them to come true. I tell her perhaps in our next birth (if we believe in that sort of thing), maybe we'll get lucky and find each other! Until then, I am very happy that I have her company.
