I met this guy online and he seemed nice, so I agreed to meet him at a restaurant. All through the meal, I kept looking at him. He was older, which did surprise me, but there was something else about him. Then, when we were almost done eating, it hit me. He looked a lot like my brother. I told him and mentioned my brother's name. He said, "Wait, what was his name?" I told him again and he got this funny look on his face. He asked me if I had another younger brother named Kyle and I was shocked because I did. After talking for a few minutes, I realized this guy – my date – was actually my father. He had left when I was three, so I didn’t recognize him. The date was a disaster, but he's been in our lives ever since. Sometimes bad things turn into good! -- Kate, 26
