I can’t help but add my encounter with someone I met online. We found each other on a dating website. We exchanged emails and then telephone numbers. We spoke on the phone every other day. This guy said on his profile he was 5’ 6” tall. Even on the phone he insisted he was that tall. I'm 5’ 4” and saw that as no problem, although I much prefer taller men. Eventually, we met in person some five months later. He flew into my city and took a shuttle bus into town. I was there waiting and was very excited to meet this person. But just like one other reader wrote, he barely came up to my earlobe. He was more like 4’ 6”. Now, why should anyone lie about such an obvious thing? -- Janet, 49
