A while back, I took a solo vacation to Europe. Once I was there, my ex-fiancée decided at the last minute that she wanted to join me. So, I flew her over to be with me. She was only there for two days when she staged a drunken nervous breakdown involving our hotel's night manager and a van load of French cops. Her story? That I took her halfway around the world without really loving her. Little did she know that I had an engagement ring in my pocket the whole time. I had been waiting for some hope of stability on her part before I popped the question. I ended up spending the night in the airport with her, and I sent her home in a hand basket. It was not fun in the least, but I'm considering writing a screenplay from the experience. -- Jeremy, 28
