I waited about 3 months before asking out Sarah, a girl I work with, and I was pleasantly surprised when I received an emphatic "yes" from her. We had dinner, talked, found out that we had everything in common, and decided to meet each other again the next Friday. On Thursday, however, I realized (rather painfully) that Sarah already had a boyfriend--a rather large man named Rufus who apparently hits the gym pretty often. He walked up to me and informed me that my dinner date was not to be. Not knowing who he was, I decided to correct him on the matter, and we had a brief exchange that left me with a broken arm and two black eyes. I never saw either of them again. -- Bobby, 24
