I had been ill and hadn't eaten much in the past 3 days, but I was feeling much better and accepted a friend's invitation to go out on a blind date with a friend of hers. He picked me up, and it was instant chemistry. So far, so good, right? Well, he took me to a top-shelf restaurant and we had a drink at the bar to start off. When we ordered dinner, he ordered a bottle of wine. After we had eaten, he suggested we have an after-dinner drink with dessert. Needless to say, after not eating for so long, then drinking all those drinks, I was feeling no pain. The most horrible thing is that later on, on the way to my house, I got sick all over my date and his car. He was a gentleman about the whole episode, but I was totally humiliated. I didn't expect to ever hear from him again, but he called me the next day. We dated for 6 months, until I left the area. We lost touch after that, but the beginning was so bad that it had nowhere to go but up. -- Karen, 34
