I went out with Gary, a blind date, to a nice restaurant about ten years ago. I never really expect too much on a first date, but some basic manners are a must. Gary failed the test in the first five minutes when he interrupted me several times, reached in front of me, and worst of all, let out a loud belch. When our food came, he shoveled it into his mouth and talked through the mess, spitting out chunks as he did. Yes, he looked good and he was nice, but those manners are important too. -- Carolyn, 34
