Nice Ways to be Naughty in Bed
By Laura Snyder
You don't have to be hard-core to heat things up in the bedroom, you know. In fact, a few sweet, but sexy, changes can get things steaming again. Call it kinky lite.
Change the Mood
You don't have to risk a citation for public nudity to get the high of taking your sex show on the road. Instead, create your own atmosphere, by draping exotic fabrics around your room for a Middle Eastern feel, or throwing mosquito netting for safari-esque sex. Experiment with mood music from sultry jazz or let's-not-mince-words hip-hop.
Fantasize
Okay, so the idea of talking dirty leaves you tongue-tied and the thought of giving voice to your most secret desires is a little intimidating. First, give over the belief that all your sexual fantasies - or your partner's - are something you'd want in real-life. If you still can't let loose with your most lascivious thoughts, share someone else's by reading sexy stories to each other (your local bookstores erotica section has something for every taste).
Role-Play
This is actually less intimidating than it sounds. In fact, if you're usually a little shy in the sack, getting into a character may make it easier to utter phrases that would make a sailor blush. So, visit your local thrift shop and find some costumes. The standards will always be favorites. Think cheerleaders, librarians, and anything in uniform (well, hello, officer!).
Take a Power Trip
If you can't see yourself slipping on solid steel handcuffs, play with power in a less scary way. Most elements of sexual behavior - playing hard to get, for one example - has some element of power and submission. Play up on that in a way that feels comfortable to you. Try things that suggest confinement - silk scarves, pinning your partner's arms about his or her head - but that aren't actually constraining.
Reflect on Voyeurism
Afraid to have sexy photos or movies lying around for snoopy houseguests to discover? Bring a couple of mirrors into your boudoir and enjoy showing off for each other without having to worry about what to do with the negatives.
