Along The Way
I am married for fourteen years, but I got involved with a married coworker over three years ago. We live three hours away from each other, but we make it work. Actually, it is probably best that we don't live in the same town. We meet once a month for several hours. I was a good wife for years, but this one person has stopped me in my tracks. His wife is extremely overbearing. I am his refuge, and he is my escape from all the stress of life. I wonder how many years people keep this up? We have no plans to leave our families, but at this point, I can't imagine what my life would be like without him. My husband worships me, but something happened along the way, and I had a weak moment. That weak moment has turned into years now. Like the Peter Gabriel song says, "I look to the time with you to keep me awake and alive." I am not a bad person, but I just can't let this go. -Karen, 34
