Rail bosses ordered to pay multi-million fine in actress' death
Bosses at Network Rail in England have been fined $5.2 million following the death of actress Olive McFarland.
The former film star, who appeared alongside Sean Connery in 1961's The Frightened City, was killed in August, 2011 after she was hit by a train at a crossing in Needham Market, Suffolk.
The rail company executives previously admitted the 82-year-old's death could have been prevented and accepted there were breaches in health and safety regulations.
Handing down the fine on Wednesday (21Sep16), Judge Martyn Levett revealed pedestrians had a five second warning of a train approaching.
