Enrique Iglesias and Jesse & Joy score top Latin Grammy nominations
Enrique Iglesias, Jesse & Joy, and Carlos Vives and Shakira will all compete for the prestigious Record of the Year honor at the 2016 Latin Grammy Awards.
Jesse & Joy lead the way with four nominations, alongside Brazilian star Djavan and Colombian singer Fonseca, but the Mexican duo is the only act to score nods in the each of the coveted Album, Song, and Record of the Year categories for its respective releases Un Besito Mas and Ecos De Amor.
In the Album of the Year shortlist, Jesse & Joy is joined by the likes of Djavan (Vidas Pra Contar), Diego Torres (Buena Vida), Fonseca (Conexion), Andrea Bocelli (Cinema), and the late Juan Gabriel (Los Duo 2), while they will fight it out with Enrique's Wisin collaboration Duele El Corazon and Vives and Shakira's duet La Bicicleta for both Record and Song of the Year.
Other Record of the Year nominees include Pepe Aguilar (Cuestion De Esperar), Djavan (Vidas Pra Contur), and Bocelli (Me Faltaras).
Meanwhile, The Chamanas, Esteman, Morat, and Manuel Medrano are among the rising stars up for Best New Artist, and Best Urban Music Album will be picked from J Balvin (Energia), El B (Luz), Farruko (Visionary), Emicida (Sobre Criancas, Quadris, Pesadelos E Licoes De Casa...), and Arianna Puello (Despierta).
The Best Rock Album nominees feature artists such as Spinetta (Los Amigo), Massacre (Biblia Ovni), and Andrea Alvarez (Y Lo Dejamos Venir), and Jose Lugo & Guasabara Combo (Donde Estan?), Grupo Niche (35 Aniversario), and Bobby Valentin (Mi Ritmo Es Bueno) will compete for Best Salsa Album.
The winners will be unveiled during a ceremony in Las Vegas on 17 November (16).
