Rapper Tech N9ne's aunt shot
Rapper Tech N9ne has asked fans to pray for his aunt after she suffered a gunshot wound on Saturday night (17Sep16).
The hip-hop star took to Instagram on Sunday (18Sep16) to share the sad news with fans, revealing Ivy Yates was hit after a gunman fired a series of shots into her Kansas City, Missouri home, while she was with her three grandchildren.
"I need all the prayers I can get from my Technicians (fans) for my aunt Ivy!" he wrote beside a photo of the pair hugging. "Some demon shot her last night! Send Angel love this way so I can transfer it her way! Positive energy today people please!"
Yates was hospitalized with a punctured lung, but Tech N9ne, who is currently on tour, has since revealed she has started to breathe on her own and is making small steps in her recovery.
Police are investigating the incident, but have yet to name any suspects in the case.
Tech N9ne is the latest star to have his life touched by gun crime - singer/actress Janelle Monae was left in mourning last month (Aug16) after her cousin was shot and killed while sleeping in her Kansas home.
Gabrielle Union's husband, basketball ace Dwyane Wade, also revealed in August (16) that his cousin, Nykea Aldridge, had been fatally wounded while pushing a baby stroller down the street in Chicago, Illinois.
