Merle Haggard honored with connoisseur-grade marijuana line
Late country legend Merle Haggard is set to go up in smoke as a new marijuana line.
The singer/songwriter, who died in April (16), is to be honored with a new cannabis strain by bosses at the Colorado Weed Co.
Haggard was working with the firm when he passed away and officials are developing a connoisseur-grade marijuana line, dubbed Merle's Girls.
The country music icon's daughter, Jenessa Haggard-Bennet, and his son-in-law, Brian Bennett, are spearheading the venture.
Jenessa tells The Denver Westworld her father was a big fan of the drug, revealing, "He believed it (marijuana) could cure a whole bunch of things."
She claims her dad smoked weed for more than 20 years.
Merle’s Girls is expected to launch in the next few months in Colorado, Washington and Oregon.
