Hillary Clinton diagnosed with pneumonia
U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has been diagnosed with pneumonia.
America's former First Lady was forced to leave a 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Ground Zero in New York early after falling ill on Sunday (11Sep16) and a campaign spokesman said she became "overheated".
It was later announced by her doctor Lisa R. Bardack that Clinton was diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday (09Sep16) during a check-up about her cough.
“Secretary Clinton has been experiencing a cough related to allergies. On Friday, during follow up evaluation of her prolonged cough, she was diagnosed with pneumonia,” Bardack said in a statement. "She was put on antibiotics, and advised to rest and modify her schedule. While at this morning’s event, she became overheated and dehydrated. I have just examined her and she is now re-hydrated and recovering nicely.”
Clinton, 68, was due to leave for California on Monday (12Sep16) to give a speech on the economy and attend fundraisers but the two-day trip has been canceled.
