Avicii fans share moments from his final live gig

Fans have shared their sadness after seeing Avicii play for the last time on Sunday night (28Aug16).

The 26-year-old music star, real name Tim Bergling, held his final live performance at the weekend at Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel after announcing earlier this year (16) that he's quitting live shows.

Fans rushed to watch the EDM artist perform his hits, such as Brother and Wake Me Up, and many took to Twitter afterward to share their thoughts on the night.

"Since my childhood to now a days. I can't imagine all those years without your music. We gonna miss you @Avicii," user @Adri_Moreno wrote, while others filled their social media accounts with video clips from the evening.

Avicii himself has remained silent on Twitter since July (16), but has been busy playing gigs before his last one on Sunday. One proved to be the scene of a dangerous event though as a fan was caught on camera risking death by climbing a 100ft tower during the DJ's set at the Tennent's Vital musical festival in Northern Ireland on Friday (26Aug16).

"I was shocked to see this video, this person could have killed themselves or certainly endangered the lives of others," SDLP (Social Democratic and Labor Party) Councillor Paul McCusker of Belfast City Council said in a statement.

"Thousands of people come from all over the country to Tennent's Vital and enjoy the music from world-renowned artists. This behavior is totally unacceptable and thankfully no one was killed or seriously hurt."

Avicii shared his plans to retire in an emotional letter on his website in April (16), later telling Billboard it was due to his health and that the EDM scene wasn't for him.

"It was always the other stuff surrounding it that never came naturally to me," he explained. "All the other parts of being an artist. I'm more of an introverted person in general. It was always very hard for me. I took on board too much negative energy, I think.”
