Nine people hurt, 44 arrested in Charlotte protests overnight -police
Sept 22 (Reuters) - Nine people were injured and 44 were arrested by police during a second night of violent protests overnight in Charlotte, North Carolina, the police chief said on Thursday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Chief Kerr Putney told a news conference the injuries and arrests occurred during demonstrations that were triggered by the fatal shooting of a black man by police.
