CELEB INSIDER: More Funny Biz for Kristen Bell
Kristen Bell may be known to untold scores of Sci Fi lovers as a fanboy fave, having done the murder mystery show "Veronica Mars," guest starred on "Heroes" and done films including -- hello! -- "Fanboys," but nowadays, it's obvious that comedy is her forte as well.

Lately, the "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" star has been here, there and everywhere showing off her humor chops.

She's been busy playing Jamie Lee Curtis' daughter in the forthcoming comedy, "You Again," which also stars Sigourney Weaver and the beloved Betty White. It's about three generations of women dealing with their high school nemeses. Megan Masters and Jennifer Cady just broke the news that Kristen is going to make a return appearance on Starz' comedy "Party Down" as her Uda Bengt character, in a romantic way with hunky Adam Scott.

And, of course, Kristen recently starred alongside Vince Vaughn, Leslie Mann and Justin Bateman in "Couples Retreat," another funny film. "The boys are getting a lot of credit in that movie, but I'm reminding everyone how funny the women are," she tells us.

As far as how it feels to be getting recognized for comedy, she responds, "It depends on what you're exposed to. Some people are like, 'How is it doing comedy now?' and other people have only seen me do the comedic stuff."

Looking ahead, Bell says she just hopes to keep sharpening her comedy skills.

"It's intimidating because there are so many funny people out there. It's difficult to be a female comedian, especially. For some reason, people don't want to laugh at girls as much," she points out. "But, there's also been this surge of funny women, which doesn't make me mad, it makes me glad.

"I grew up worshiping like Catherine O'Hara and Jennifer Coolidge. If I'm considered a part of that group or can attempt to be one day, it's very flattering."

However, just because Bell has a knack for hitting people's funny bones, it doesn't mean she plans on abandoning her Sci Fi peeps.

"I hope to do a little bit of everything over the course of my career. Like any actor, I crave variety," says Bell, who is currently one of the voiceover actors in "Astro Boy." "Whatever I do, I hope people enjoy it."
