Sara Foster, who stars on "90210," has been surrounded by the business much longer than most of her co-stars -- considering her dad is well-known music producer David Foster, who has worked with the likes of Cher, Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Josh Groban, and Mariah Carey, just to name a few.
While the young actress has no desire to be in the music business herself, she tells us she's learned to really appreciate the rarefied surroundings of her childhood.
"Yeah, growing up, it was crazy to see Barbra Streisand in your kitchen or Whitney Houston in your living room. You don't really think about it when you're a kid. Now that I'm an adult, I look back and go, 'Whoa, what a life!' Not to mention, his music is the soundtrack to half of our lives," notes Foster of the music titan who holds 15 Grammys (out of 44 nominations), multiple Oscar nominations -- and was recognized in his native province with the Order of British Columbia in 1995.
"I remember I'd be out at a club when I was 21 and one of his songs would come on. I was like, 'Ok, I cannot be drinking and dancing to one of my dad's songs,'" admits Sara with a smile.
Despite her dad's worldwide fame, though, Foster tells us he's always taught her and her three sisters to work hard and remain humble.
"My dad is the most down-to-earth guy you'll ever meet. He's not one of those people who came to Hollywood with these big dreams of being famous and taking the easy way out. He started from the bottom.
"He swept floors in studios. Then he worked his way up," she says. "He's kept that with him. The big joke is that he'd be watering the lawn or washing the car in this big home in Malibu and the FedEx guy would pull up and ask where the owner was, so he could sign for the packages."
