Rebecca Romijn, whose twin daughters with hubby Jerry O'Connell were born Dec. 28, admits that getting her renowned figure back has not been easy.
In fact, she says that even when she began production of her Sept. 23-debuting "Eastwick," she still had "a little ways to go. At first, nursing was the best way to lose weight and then I did some exercise, some Pilates, and I got on the treadmill every day. But, I never got into a regular workout schedule once the babies were born, and now it's impossible."
Filming the series, spun from John Updike's "The Witches of Eastwick" and its 1987 big-screen adaptation, would be challenging even without twin babies at home.
"The production schedule is never the same," says Rebecca, who stars along with Lindsay Price and Jamie Ray Newman -- and Paul Gross as Darryl Van Horne.
She explains, "We've got union laws that require a 12-hour turn-around, so every day is a different start time, and it gets pushed later and later as the week goes on. So, on Monday, you're starting at five in the morning, and by Friday, you may be working all night. It's difficult, but it also means I get to spend daytime hours with the babies."
Rebecca says she had every intention of taking time off to
devote all her energies to her twin daughters, Charlie and Dolly. In
fact, "I told my agents that I wasn't interested in working for six
months because I wanted to be with the babies. I said, 'Unless there's anything that I'd be devastated that I missed out on, don't send me anything. But, if there is something that good, make sure I see it.' The only thing I read was 'Eastwick.'"
