TV's Top 10 Most Annoying Personalities

By Emily Feimster and Stacy Jenel Smith

Star Jones Reynolds is due to return to the tube this summer with her own talk show on Court TV - proof positive that television's most annoying celebrities have a way of coming back, and back, and back, like thrush. Certain personalities with that nails-on-a-chalk-board kind of charm leap from our screens and onto our heads causing searing pain before we can dive for the remote. They taunt us from TVs in gyms, bars, hospital waiting rooms. It's time to call them out.

1. Bill O'Reilly - He's pompous, opinionated, hypocritical, and has a knack for distorting the facts. How can this not be annoying? We recognize that the Fox "news" man does have a large following, but he also happens to be one of the nation's most disliked public figures - although, George W. does seem to be giving him a run for his money. It's actually hard to find people O'Reilly hasn't offended. Some of his more public feuds have been with Al Franken, George Clooney, Jon Stewart, Tucker Carlson, David Letterman, Michael Savage, Bill Maher and Ludacris, to name a few.

2. Joan Rivers - Speaking of someone who loves to offend, who hasn't Joan Rivers teed off? The comedian/TV host has made a long career out of talking about people. But not only is her information annoying, so is the way in which she presents it. You can practically hear the plastic princess' loud, gruff voice talking smack from a mile away.

3. Ryan Seacrest - Right. You're not "gay"! We get it! Just quit trying to prove that you are straight on every single episode of "American Idol." The Miata you used to drive speaks for itself.

4. Nancy Grace - The talk show host and former prosecutor is so annoying that "Saturday Night Live" is having a ball doing numerous parodies of her Court TV show. Not only does Grace have the most grating voice on television, but she's also overbearing and so focused on what she believes is the "truth," that she sometimes causes a lot of damage in the process. Last year, 21-year-old Melinda Duckett committed suicide following an over-the-top interview conducted by Grace concerning the disappearance of Duckett's two-year-old son.

5. Kathy Griffin - This comedian seems to be picking up any slack that Joan Rivers has left in her wake. Her controversial style of trashing celebrities in her standup acts has, according to Kathy, caused her to be banned from appearing on "The Tonight Show," "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," "Live with Regis and Kelly," "Late Show with David Letterman," and "The Ellen DeGeneres Show."

6. Donald Trump - Ok, so his reality show "The Apprentice" was pretty cool during the first season, but why can't he just leave it be. Nobody wants to hear him say "you're fired" anymore. It's old. It's lame. Stick to being a billionaire. And for goodness sakes, stop arguging with Rosie O'Donnell and calling her a fat slob. Nobody cares!

7. Rosie O'Donnell - Can you believe Newsweek once dubbed her "The Queen of Nice," and meant it? When Rosie dropped that wide-eyed, I'm-Everyone's-Biggest-Fan persona that admirers of her long-running talk show loved, it was like the daytime TV answer to Anakin Skywalker turning into a Sith Lord. People were stunned as she singed well-knowns from Bill Clinton to Michael Jackson in her standup act. Years later, nobody is surprised when Rosie zings anyone - Star Jones, Donald Trump, Chinese people... Since joining "The View," is there anyone she hasn't challenged to a duel? She even got in a fight with Kelly Ripa! Who does that?

8. David Hasselhoff - Anybody who would refer to themselves as "The Hoff" definitely deserves to be on this list. And what was his shining moment during 2006, you ask? Being a judge on the popular "America's Got Talent"? No. Becoming the self-proclaimed king of the Internet? No. Crying at the finale of "American Idol"? Ding ding ding!

9. Billy Bush - It's not because he's the cousin of you-know-who. It's his own smirky, snarky style and the way he can press those occasional bewilderingly weird questions of his that land the "Access Hollywood" and "Grease: You're the One That I Want" personality on this list. Besides, Billy Crystal once called Billy Bush "the most annoying man in show business," and we respect his opinion.

10. William Shatner - He. Is. So. Boring. Especially. When. He. Talks. Like. This. Can someone please take the microphone away from him? Oh, wait. What is that we hear? The sound of a thousand trekkies trying to beam us up? Run!
